On Monday, the 6th of March 2023, Dr. Santvana Sharan and the team at Mother & Child Health Care Center, Ramgarh, organized the 55th camp of the Prime Minister's Safe Maternity Scheme at Nayak Tola in Ramgarh district. This significant initiative, coinciding with International Women's Day on March 8th and Holi, aimed to extend crucial healthcare services to the community. The inauguration, marked by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolized the commitment to maternal and child health. Despite logistical challenges, today's camp reaffirmed the unwavering dedication of the healthcare team. Amidst the serene backdrop, nine expectant mothers and five other women seized the opportunity for comprehensive health assessments and medical consultations. The camp offered free blood tests, medical counseling, and essential medications. Dr. Santvana Sharan's informative sessions shed light on prenatal care, emphasizing the significance of a clean environment, appropriate exercise, and balanced nutrition during pregnancy. Furthermore, attendees received insights into women's rights and a month's supply of rations from the Akshay Patra Foundation. Mother & Child Health Care, Ramgarh, organized a Free Bone Mineral Density Camp for all patients on Monday,
September 16th, 2019. This initiative aimed to provide essential bone health assessments to the community, ensuring
early detection and management of bone-related conditions.
We were honored to be invited as chief guests at Alfa Academy School, Pochra, Ramgarh, for their Annual function. Our presence acknowledged the school's noble mission of uplifting backward and tribal students, integrating them into the mainstream of society through education and self-sufficiency. It was a privilege to support such a meaningful cause aimed at nurturing and empowering the future leaders of our society.
On November 7, 2022, Mission Pink Health conducted its 109th camp at Vincent Public School, Binjahar, Ramgarh Cantt. The camp aimed to educate 50 adolescent girls and teachers about health-related issues, covering topics such as menstrual hygiene, anemia, proper nutrition, and the dropout rates of girls in Jharkhand. Dr. Santvana Sharan, Dr. Nidhi Bajaj, and Dr. Mrityunjay led informative sessions on these topics, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health practices in daily life. During the program, Mrs. Ranjana distributed essential items like iron tablets, sanitary pads, ORS sachets, soap, biscuits, and Albendazole tablets to all children. The event received praise from the school's principal and teachers, who encouraged the continuation of such initiatives. Additionally, a first aid box was provided to the school, and an Hb% test was conducted for all children, with 10 children found to have hemoglobin levels below 10 grams.
Mother & Child Health Care Center conducted a health camp for pregnant women as part of the Prime Minister's Surakshit Matritva Yojana, in collaboration with the Ranchi Obstetrics & Gynaecology Society (ROGS), at Huhua village, Ramgarh. Situated 5 km away from the main town, this initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services to women residing in interior areas. On the 6th of December 2022, free consultations, medicines, and counseling sessions focusing on nutrition, regular antenatal care (ANC), and exercise were provided. Attendees received free medications including iron tablets, calcium tablets, vitamin supplements, oral rehydration salts (ORS), and protein powder. ANC check-ups and pathological tests were conducted, along with counseling sessions addressing nutrition, lifestyle, and emotional wellbeing. Additionally, medications for pregnancy complicated with other diseases were distributed, ensuring comprehensive care for expectant mothers in remote areas.
The 29th installment in our series, which commenced on June 9, 2016, continues to run tirelessly in response to the call of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Due to pressing commitments on the 9th, we visited Dakshini Kujju Panchayat, Ramgarh, on October 7, 2018, located 18 km from MCHC Ramgarh. During this visit, we attended to 25 patients, including 20 pregnant women, providing them with free consultations, blood tests, distributed medicines, and offered advice on breastfeeding, nutrition, cleanliness, hygiene, and exercise during pregnancy. The camp was inaugurated with great enthusiasm by the Mukhia, Smt. Rekha Devi, President of BJP Mandu Prakhand, Sri Manohar Gupta, and Mahamantri of BJP Mandu Prakhand, Sri Ganesh Gope. The entire team at Dr. Sharan Mother & Child Health Care Centre, Ramgarh, worked diligently to ensure the success of the camp.
As part of our ongoing commitment to community health, the 28th free health checkup camp was organized on September 2018. In response to the call by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the camp was held in Purvi Kujju Panchayat, Ramgarh, situated approximately 20 km from MCHC Ramgarh. The event aimed to provide essential healthcare services to those in need, particularly focusing on pregnant women. A total of 20 individuals were attended to during the camp, out of which 16 were expectant mothers. Our dedicated team provided free consultations, conducted blood tests, distributed medicines, and offered guidance on breastfeeding nutrition and prenatal care. Additionally, attendees were counseled on maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and engaging in suitable exercises during pregnancy. The camp was inaugurated by Mukhia Sri Ashok Kumar, and the entire team at Dr. Sharan Mother & Child Health Care Centre, Ramgarh, worked tirelessly to ensure its success.
Reaching Out to Daxmikarma Panchayat Continuing our commitment to community health, the 22nd installment in our ongoing monthly series, initiated in June 2016, focused on pregnant ladies in Daxmikarma Panchayat of Ramgarh. This outreach effort aimed to provide essential healthcare services to expecting mothers, ensuring their well-being and that of their unborn children. Through free consultations and specialized care, our dedicated team from Dr. Sharan Mother & Child Health Care Centre, Ramgarh, Jharkhand, worked diligently to address the unique needs of each individual. By extending our services to remote areas like Daxmikarma Panchayat, we strive to make quality healthcare accessible to all, promoting maternal and child health in the community.
Extending Healthcare Services to Rural Communities In response to the honorable call of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the 26th free health checkup camp was organized in Pashchami Kujju Panchayat, Ramgarh, on July 8th, 2018. Located 20 km from MCHC Ramgarh, this initiative aimed to provide essential medical assistance to the community. With a total of 43 attendees, including 34 pregnant women and 9 others, the camp offered free consultations, blood tests, and distributed medicines. Additionally, crucial advice on breastfeeding nutrition, hygiene practices, and physical exercises was provided to promote overall well-being. The camp was inaugurated by Mukhia Smt. Nitu Devi, and witnessed the dedicated efforts of the entire team at Dr. Sharan Mother & Child Health Care Centre, Ramgarh, who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event.
Bringing Healthcare to Remote Communities The 25th free health checkup camp marked a significant milestone since its inception in June 2016. This month, the camp was held in Chhotki Dundi Panchayat, Ramgarh, situated 30 km from the main town and nearly 2 km before the Bokaro district. Despite the challenging terrain, including dense Mahua forests and poor road connectivity, the community's dedication was evident as many turned up, braving heavy rains. The camp catered to the needs of pregnant women and several others, providing free consultations, blood tests, medicines, and valuable counseling sessions on hygiene, cleanliness, exercise, and education. The event was inaugurated by Mukhia Smt. Fulki Devi and her husband, Shobha Mahto, with the entire team from Dr. Sharan Mother & Child Health Care Centre, Ramgarh, demonstrating unwavering zeal in serving the community.
Reaching Out to Minority Tribes The 24th free health checkup camp, part of an ongoing series since June 2016, took us to Hehal Birhor colony, home to the Birhor and Malhor minority tribes, located 12 km from the main town. Despite challenges like poor road connectivity, we attended to the health needs of the community. While only a few pregnant ladies could attend due to these challenges, we served a significant number of children, adolescent girls and boys, and elderly individuals with free consultations, blood tests, medicines, and valuable counseling sessions on cleanliness, hygiene, and education. The camp was inaugurated by Mukhia Smt. Kashi Devi and Pradeep Sharma, ward member, with the whole team from Dr. Sharan Mother & Child Health Care Centre, along with Truth, an NGO in Ramgarh, demonstrating unwavering zeal in serving the community. During our visit on May 9th, 2018, to the Birhor colony, we also had the opportunity to interact with teachers and students at the village school. It was evident that they were in a primitive stage and highly deprived of basic facilities such as drinking water, sanitation, and food. This experience highlighted the pressing need for extensive ground-level work to uplift these communities.
Extending Care to Marangmarcha Panchayat The 23rd installment in our continuous monthly series, which began in June 2016, saw us reaching out to pregnant ladies in Marangmarcha Panchayat of Ramgarh. Situated 24 km interior from the main town, this area presented its own set of challenges. However, undeterred by the distance, we provided free consultations, blood tests, medicines, and valuable advice on pregnancy exercises and breastfeeding. Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness in the surroundings, our dedicated team from Dr. Sharan Mother & Child Health Care Centre, Ramgarh, Jharkhand, worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of the community. Additionally, we emphasized the importance of pregnancy exercises, breastfeeding, and maintaining cleanliness in the surroundings. As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we also planted a mango tree, symbolizing growth and vitality. Furthermore, we introduced the self-employment scheme of Punjab National Bank, empowering women with economic opportunities. The entire team worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this initiative, with Mrs. Prabha Devi, the Mukhia, graciously inaugurating the camp. Maternal Health in Barkipona Panchayat Today's 17th medical camp by Dr. Sharan MCHC Ramgarh, part of the Surakshit Matritwa initiative, addressed maternal health in Barkipona Panchayat, Ramgarh District. Since June 2016, these camps have provided vital care for expectant mothers. Free consultations, medication distribution, blood tests, pregnancy exercises, and hygiene education were conducted. Additionally, a mango tree was planted symbolizing growth, and the Grameen Swarozgaar Yojna was promoted for economic empowerment. Inaugurated by Mukhia Mrs. Nirmala Devi, this camp highlights our commitment to maternal welfare and community health.
Bringing Light to Special Inmates On Sunday, April 15, 2018, we continued our tradition of spending time with the special inmates of Chasire Home in Ranchi. It was an opportunity to share in their experiences, listen to their stories, and offer comfort and support. As we celebrated a small Diwali with them, we aimed to bring some brightness into their lives amidst their challenges.
